A party at the chicken's house (J.Marathon Episode 2)

Jonas had a great time at Bryn and Henry's house a couple of weekends ago. He got a chance to share in some party food, play some games with the kids, check out the chickens, and watch some adults play their version of pong while he fixed the lawnmower. Notice the kids in the background carefully watching their dad "play a game". Lucky Jonas is more into "doing work" than recreation.
Jonas and Max did not want to sit together at first when they were offered to share a chair and plate. Oooops......a little rephrasing later...."Do you and Max want to sit together on the same chair and use only one plate for all that food?" Of course the answer was an enthusiastic yes from both of them.

2nd Birthday Day (J.Marathon Episode 1)

Jonas has handled being 2 pretty well so far. There have been really no "terrible" moments at all. In celebration of this, "JJ's Adventures in Life....so far" is presenting a marathon posting session. Every 36 hours for the next 14 days there will be a new post. Some of the planned excitement includes goofey animals, pants down, new rizzees, a new breakfast routine, and other events from the past couple of weeks. Hopefully Jonas will be able to compete favorably with his marathon blog stunt at this time when the focus is on the TV season premieres.

You can see some pictures of Jonas's birthday day. We had to call it this because of several other events that also celebrated his birthday. He was quite excited to make pancakes, but did not eat too much to save room for cake so he would not get a full tummy. He requested to dine "alfresco" for lunch and we had a good time eating and singing songs that echoed off of the cliff-side. Got some books from his neighbors and played a bit with Cory. He got a chance to play with a few trains from his new train set. It actually took him over 3 days to open all the train cars and parts because he was more than satisfied with having "just the one train car" and did not need more to play with. He enjoyed his time at Ella's Deli and was pretty into all the flying objects whizzing around. He had to share a peanut-butter cookie dough chocolate malt for an appetizer before his meal and his birthday sundae and carousal ride. Coincidentally enough we were seated at a table with a train built into the table. Mom was in charge of pushing the button to get the train moving, and she made it all night without coming down with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Zoo Time

The summer of 2009 brought many exciting pit-stops at the zoo. Most of the time the animals are the stars of the show, but on this one rare occasion in the the jungle children demanded attention. The children's zoo suspension bridge provided Cory and Jonas a running-dancing-bouncing platform to perform stunts.

Corn at the Farm

Jonas had another opportunity to chow on some corn on the cob and he did pretty well. He seems to like the raw corn on the cob better than the cooked variety and who could find fault in that? It is delicious. He had a great time feeding the farm goat, riding the tractor, playing with the kids, and just hanging out at the farm.

State Fair #2

Link to the fullscreen slideshow

Jonas seemingly had a wonderful time at the 2009 State Fair......a bit of revisionist history perhaps. We thought he was rather crabby, but he talks about the fair like it was a complete blast-off mission to fun-town. Jonas got a chance to see the usual ungulates and hang out with Uncle Helge and some tractors. He made a decision to take on the big slide with mom instead of riding on mules. He loved walking up all of the stairs to the top of the slide (even though he created a little backup), but was in the need of some gentle persuasion by his mom to go down the slide. You can see how that turned out.

3 Birthdays in one week!

Jonas had quite the week of birthday celebrations. It was a good warm-up for his 2nd birthday coming up in less than a month. He made all the right moves....hugs, kisses, dances, candles, wishes, presents, etc., so we feel pretty good about him enjoying his family birthday party next month.

Children's Museum on a Sort of Rainy morning

Jonas met some of his pals at the children's museum. As usual they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There has been a lot of birthday activity in the last week or so and Jonas is working on putting together a birthday compilation on his next post.
