This is what I was laughing at.

What is he laughing at? (repost from 7/11)

A couple of weeks ago Jonas posted a video called "What is he laughing at?" You can see it above if you haven't watched it already. Here is the good news. We were able to capture what Jonas was laughing at in a new video called "This is what I was laughing at." Of course you know Jonas was laughing at Rocky, but what was Rocky doing that was so funny? Check it out and see if you agree with Jonas's sense of humor and foot-stomping laughter.

This is what I was laughing at.

Grandma's Bday

It was Grandma Sue's birthday today. Jonas started off the celebration with a game of peekaboo. The video is just a short snippet of what can be an extremely long game. Jonas and Grandma manged to play peekaboo with no signs of fatigue. They are in real good peekaboo shape.

Jonas helped Grandma read her birthday card and also helped her to blow out her birthday candle. Grandma told Jonas that this was good practice since he would have to blow out his own birthday candle in a little over a month from now.

After blowing out the candle Jonas took Grandma to the opera. It was a master plan. Somehow Jonas managed to schedule an opera in a park near his house on Grandma's birthday. Before the opera started Jonas got in at least a quarter mile of crawling around on the grass at the park. It was quite comical as Jonas would crawl up to random groups of people waiting to see the opera and wave or smile. In the video above Mom was telling Jonas that he had to turn around to where everyone was waiting to watch the opera. It seemed Jonas had a mind of his own and always bolted away from 'homebase' to mingle with the crowd. It probably helped that he was wearing pumpkin snuggle pajamas. It was a great day to celebrate Grandma's birthday.

Nature lover

Jonas has a real love of nature. Whenever he's fussy we take him outside and he settles down. He can track hawks and butterflies and is patient enough to wait for them to circle back around. On our way back from EVP we stopped at the prairie in Hoyt Park that Travis has been helping to restore and re-plant. It looks awesome with all the coneflowers in bloom right now. Jonas was still wearing his Spiderman pj's because he looks hilarious in them.

After finally getting dressed and taking an afternoon nap Jonas came outside and found a baby wooly bear caterpillar. He tried to eat it off his arm several times before the camera got the right shot. Nature lover or nature eater? You decide.

Tangens visit

Several members of the Tangen family visited Jonas this weekend. First it was Ashley's turn. Jonas enjoyed listening to a book about the jungle in Spanish and showing off his goofball tendencies throughout dinner.

Next, the grandparents visited. Jonas had a good long nap and then spent his new-found energy being chased around the house by Grandma and inspecting Grandpa's mustache. Jonas gets bolder and bolder every time he encounters the mustache to the point where now he is grabbing and pulling on it. Too bad, Grandpa.

Day 5: Jonas is Revealed

'Jonas Revealed' is a challenging game. It is very difficult to figure out what the lad is doing with just some snippets of the picture. We've heard from a couple of you, and your guesses were pretty close, but no one got it spot-on that we know of.

Jonas just finished a backwards ride on his little car and let out a bellow of joy that was captured at just the right moment. The picture also provided a great opportunity to inspect the health of Jonas's tonsils. Anyhow, thanks for playing and we'll play again soon.

As part of a new series Jonas is bringing you a five day extravaganza, 'Jonas Revealed'. Every day for the next five days a part of the picture will be revealed until the final pieces of the puzzle are put together to reveal what Jonas is doing. So stay tuned for the next five days as a piece of Jonas will be revealed each day. Good luck trying to figure out "Jonas Revealed".

Motion Book n Cat Tail

Grandma Sue found Jonas an animal book that moves as the page turns. This is just one of the many books that Jonas is falling in love with. He likes to flip through the pages of books by himself and has become a good page turner when he is being read to. He was a bit distracted by Oscar's tail, he just had to grab it.

July 4 Swimmin

Jonas spent his first fourth of July swimming and socializing at his great Aunt Carol's house. Although he enjoyed the pool after figuring out it was like a giant bathtub to splash in, he didn't last long before his little teeth started chattering and his mom made him get out. He spent the rest of the day eating, chatting, playing with toys, "bowling", and people and dog watching. Jonas zonked out in the car less than one half block away from the party. Happy July 4th!
