Pine nut and sandwich

Jonas has learned some new food words in the past week. The words he latches onto are kind of spontaneous right now. For instance, for "cat" he still shrieks a "meow", but does not say the word cat or kitty, although he hears them repeatedly throughout the day. The two words he recently decided to say are "pine nut" and "sandwich", both of which he loves to eat. Also interesting because they are two syllable words, which he has fewer of, preferring to stick to one syllable words most of the time.

Flamenco anyone?

I just don't know where Jonas gets his sweet moves from :)
Warning: long and plotline-lacking video to follow.

First zoo outing of 2009

Jonas couldn't wait to go to the zoo for the first time in months. Not all the animals were out, but he had a great time watching the ones who were roaming around enjoying the sunshine. Jonas also went into the children's play area for the first time. The last time he was at the zoo he couldn't walk! Time flies.

Easter 2009

Jonas was excited for Easter due to the preponderance of bunnies in our neighborhood. Imagine all the baskets they might bring! He was even more excited to see his family members and have fun playing with everyone.

Three Musketeers...

...or three stooges, depending on what the three boys are doing. Just kidding. Congratulations to Jay, Emily and Cory on their new addition, Benjamin! Jonas crashed Ben's arrival last week to get a peek at this little cutie. Finally what Cory and Jonas have been waiting for: someone who can distract the adults so they can get in even bigger messes.

Sounds of spring

As I was making lunch one day I heard the typical pre-lunch fussing in the sunroom. The fussing became louder and more desperate, so I looked in the other room only to discover Jonas in the following position. Who knows how he did it.

The next day I was cleaning up the lunch dishes when I heard a snorting sound. When I checked the sun room this time, I saw Travis, Ernie and Rocky sawing logs in the midday sun.
Last but not least. On Saturday evening I heard a rustling, scraping sound in the chimney. I was told by Travis that I was "paranoid". Then Jonas heard it and said "in in in" while pointing to the fireplace. Sure enough, upon further inspection, there was a raccoon wedged in the chimney. We ended up calling Jay A. for reinforcement and managed to annoy the coon enough it crawled back up the chimney and left little coon footprints in the freshly fallen snow. Jonas missed the excitement, but he's seen the picture to prove it.

True Wisconsinite

Jonas received a bowling set from Grandma and Grandpa Tangen a few weeks back. As you will see in the video, he quickly caught on to the strategy of the game: stand close and use a huge ball.

A few days later, he decided that standing took too much energy and is now "armchair bowling". Do they have a state tournament for this?

Blast off!

Travis and Jonas made up a new game last night they are calling "sky". If anyone needs a good triceps and deltoids workout: this is it. Not to be outdone by Daddy, Jonas added the clapping on his own.
