A little abstraction
Jonas asked to see the chalk bin, so I let him go to town on the freshly scrubbed pantry doors. He normally doesn't draw much when given his crayons, but he happily drew with different colored chalk for several 20 minute periods. Now he is "perfecting" his art by rubbing it a bit in places to blend the lines together. Perhaps he just needed a new medium with which to express himself.

Fatty boom-ba-latty
I told Jonas that we would be having some french fries, one of his favorite foods, for dinner on Thursday. From the time the fries came out of the freezer until they were finished baking in the oven, Jonas whined "Feh-ffyyy" and threw himself on the floor in front of the oven. No amount of explaining about eating yucky frozen fries would abate the fussing.
Jonas ate A LOT of fries, hard boiled egg, cheese, broccoli, carrots, peas, soy "chicken", almonds, and 6 ounces of milk. As I picked him up out of his high chair I felt a hard round lump under his sweater. That, I learned upon further inspection, was his belly, as you can see him proudly displaying below.

Elmer Fudd
Jonas has been roaming the neighborhood hunting bunnies for the past week after seeing a little cottontail hop under our front shrubbery. He has not had any luck. Despite calling to them by making bunny noises, he had yet to see another one. He was a persistent little chap, however. Nary an outdoor trip passed without a few rounds of hunt the bunnies under the neighborhood shrubs, as you will see below.
Jonas got lucky on Tuesday. After calling to the bunnies and checking under the bushes for a few minutes, we decided to walk on in further pursuit. As we turned to leave, a little bunny hopped out to show off his camouflage. Jonas "Fudd" Tangen managed to spot it. Instead of a rousing rendition of "Kill the Wabbit", he decided instead to sniff at it and make conjectures about the bunny's other daily activities.

Stompin
We are lucky we don't have neighbors downstairs or Jonas the elephant would drive them up the wall with his boot stompin' action.

Pig man
This is an APB: We have located the pig man near Hilldale Mall. He is trapped under a dining room table and appears to have made himself incapacitated by giggles. Approach with caution.

Slideshow update
Just a few photos from the past few weeks. For those of you giving me heat for slacking on updating the blog, just know that the little man puts you to shame. He wants to look at new pictures on his blog several times per day. Not happenin'. Luckily, he's usually just as happy looking at old blog posts or other kid-blogs.

Happy Valentine's Day
Jonas and his valentine, Greta, snuggle on the couch and wish it would get warm again for a few days. Have a great valentine's day, everyone!

If you look closely in the second picture you can see that Jonas has "donated" his stickers from indoor playground to Greta.
This last picture appears in Madison's free weekly newspaper, the Isthmus, on page 11 in "the book of love" section this week! Bring on the paparazzi.

Some black and whites
Just a few photos I've randomly taken over the past few days while Jonas and I are trying to beat the cold weather. I've also had my hands full keeping Jonas out of the bathtub. Seems he likes the big boy tub and the vortex of water that goes down the drain so much that he is constantly telling me he needs a bath. I think not. Last night he laid down on his belly in the tub and propped himself on his elbows. He looked quite pleased, peaceful, and warm and then the frog kicking began!
