Sleep Research Grant renewed

Jonas received good news from the NIH. He will continue to receive funding to study his sleep patterns and how his sleep patterns influence the other members of his niche. At this point in time it seems that when Jonas sleeps he has an uncanny ability to make everyone else fall asleep at the same time. You can see one documented instance of this above as all 6 animals are in state of sleep. This is unusual as all of these are diurnal animals who are exhibiting sleeping patterns outside of the normal patterns for their respective species. Bottom line: It seems that Jonas can make others sleepy.

Waiting for the Pack

When the weather is below 10 degrees there is little else for a 4 month old to do but wait for the Packer's Kickoff on Sunday. Jonas was practicing for future outings that would require heavy outdoor gear such as a lumberjack coat as an undergarment to watch the NFC Championship game in 2114 at Lambeau. (Jonas will be 6 years 4.5 months old in 2114)

Monster????

We had no idea that Jonas could be such a monster. He learned to make the monster noise yesterday and is steadily becoming more and more scary. The amount of adrenaline that is being spilled in this house is incredible due to Jonas's new repertoire of scary noises. You can't walk around the corner without shrieking in terror from the monster baby.

Ski Mask evolution

Mom and Dad had been talking about the need for Jonas to get a ski mask for the harsh winter days. We were inspired by this idea when Jonas grabbed Dad's cap and modeled it forward and backward. We saw the potential right away for the ski-mask to extend his outdoor time while protecting his cheeks. Wouldn't you know it, Neighbor Mike knitted Jonas a ski-mask and delivered it this morning. We had no idea; it was a great surprise. Jonas took the hat for a test spin, and it worked wonderfully.

Go Pack Go with friend Max

Wouldn't you know, every game Jonas has worn his Packer outfit the Packers have won. You got the scoop here before it shows up on the 24 hour NFL News Network. You can see Jonas and Max in the first half. Jonas's uniform didn't make it to the second half. You can see the snowy field where the Seahawks froze up under the Packers in the background of the pic with Max's Dad, Brett and Jonas's Mom, Sara. Brett and Jonas were laughing at the ease that the Packers are destroying opponents this season.

Grandma's House

Jonas was happy to get his first official visit to Grandma Sue's new Madison home. He has been over "unofficially" a bunch of times, but this is the first time to hang out with Grandma and her animals. He got reacquainted with her cat Zippy and her lizard Steve. Jonas is planning to become quite the young herpetologist.

Ready for the Oregon Trail

Let's Ride! Jonas has taken a bunch of luxury rides laying down in his wagon ('the UHAS'), but this was his first ride sitting up. He managed to do pretty well across the terrain. He certainly was well equipped for whatever the journey could bring. The forecast didn't call for rain, but the umbrella was up because that's what he likes. It seems that settling the West might be up his alley, but he might have been beat to the great frontier by those homesteaders from 150 years before he was born. Oh well, it's fun to do wagon laps around the house for now.

Busy Saturday

Jonas had a busy Saturday visiting friends. He first stopped at the Affeldts' house to see what the twins were up to. Bryn and Henry gave him a lesson in dancing and singing to the tune of "Frosty the Snowman".
Jonas donned his new strawberry hat from the twins and then it was off to Tracy and Anno's for Jonas's first EVP holiday party. Although he was wiped out and slept through most of the festivities, he enjoyed making google eyes at Anno and Tracy before departing for his own crib.
